Conceptually anchored in the symbolism of Baudelaire’s Les fleurs du mal, about the decadence of the artist. Although today, instead of evil and eroticism, the problem lies in capital, in excessive consumption, and the waste derived from it. Including technological consumption and its carbon footprint.

Created experimentally, using materials recovered from household waste: orange nets; plastic straws; skewers; dried acrylic paint; medication blisters; sausage packaging.
⚪ Given the excesses of consumption, and the pandemic of waste and environmental impacts, it might be appropriate to spread a PANDEMIC DUE TO THE ART VIRUS

I found these beautiful red roses in Madrid

In a closer look, they were suffocated in pastic waste

For some reason,the flowers were victims of the evil capìtal, in the shape of consumerism plastic packagin waste.
The concept
I found it interesting to work upon the theme in Baudelaire´s «Les fleurs du mal», by bringing it to this century, where sins seeem to be based in shopping, theerefore producing plastic waste
The technique
I used my own domestic plastic waste to produce the artwork with orange red bags, empty prescription blisters for the leaves, food sticks and old acrylic paint
The vase
It was the gallery Est Art Space who provided all the artists with a vase of their choice, to produce our artwork for the collective exhibition Revenant
